Tulum Magic Pt. 3

When exploring Tulum we had a few spots we for sure wanted to explore and these two places were Ik Kil Cenote and Chichen Itza Ruins.  It was always my dream to bring Audrey here and I am so glad we were able to go here and explore. We woke up early and set off as soon as we could...we really wanted to avoid the crowds. We drove about two hours from Tulum before we arrived...it was really neat seeing the smaller towns on the way. We first arrived at Chichen Itza and were able to explore it without hardly anyone there. It was really special to be there without any crowds and let Audrey run free. As we were leaving about ten tour buses showed up and the crowds were pouring in...so we really lucked out. We then headed off to the cenote which by then sounded great because it was so hot and humid even though it was still morning. We changed, rinsed off, and then headed down the steps. When we got down there and Audrey was ready to jump in and swim... she was not scared at all. The water was cold and the depth of the cenote made me nervous but Audrey's enthusiasm kept my mind from thinking about it. At the end of the day I am glad we got to experience Tulum together. I was also glad to go straight home though... to be with our family during that difficult time. I still often wonder if we should have flown home when we first arrived but I know my Grandma wouldn't have wanted that.
