The bib says "Little Lady" not "Little Boy" :) |
So for the past couple of months when the babes and I are out and about, I have been getting so many compliments on how handsome my son is, which is nice. The only problem is..... I don't have a son, I have a daughter :) My husband and I think this is so funny, we usually just say "thanks" and carry on. Now, granted sometimes we have her in "boyish" sort of clothing, but sometimes she is even dressed in all pink, haha!! It doesn't bother us at all and rarely even bother to correct them. So for now she is our handsome Little Lady and we love her :)
Awww, she doesn't look like a boy to me. I'm glad you can laugh about it. I had a friend who's little girl was always called a boy and it really used to wind her up. X
ReplyDeleteThe same thinghappens to us all the time! I think it's our daighter's unfortunate lack of hair. We usually just ignore it, but then someone will ask "his" name, and we have to reply, "err, Madeline....". It doesn,t usually bother me, but when she's head to toe in pink, it does make me question people's powers of observation.
ReplyDeleteI deal with the same thing with my 18 month old. I will literally dress her in clothes I picked from the boys section though, so I can't complain. Who cares? They're ambiguously gorgeous ;)
ReplyDeletePerhaps a result of people normally decking baby girls out in every girly color and accessory possible? It's ridiculous the difference in style and color between the baby boy section and baby girl section...
ReplyDeleteI love that you take it like a compliment. I would too. :)
This always happens with Charlotte and it doesn't help that we call her "Charlie". Unless she's wearing a frilly headband, someone will always say, "He's so handsome! What's his name?" and we sheepishly reply, "Charlie..." Like you, we don't really correct people.
ReplyDeleteIts funny, I use to have the opposite problem. My sons hair was long so people always thought he was a girl! Its so hard to tell with babies anyway! Your little lady is precious!
